A large bright room with immediate all day access to garden and toilet area.
Again the design is to allow continuous provision with designated play spaces for mark making, mathematics, imaginary and creative play. We also have ICT, construction and physical play areas and equipment. Children can relax on the sofa or amongst cushions with books and toys. We have a large space for children to share mealtimes, and snacks together. They can even access fresh chilled water from the cold water dispenser throughout the day.
As with all the rooms the environment, routines and mealtimes is designed to allow children access to all the facilities offered to them throughout the day, encouraging a sense of choice, independence, friendship and confidence.
To enable children to develop a broad range of skills, knowledge and attitudes needed as foundations for good future progress, practitioners ensure individual planning and activities reflect all 7 areas of learning as outlined in the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’. These key areas of learning are promoted and developed to ensure children are best equipped for school life and future learning and recorded in each child’s learning journey. These learning journey’s will all be available for parents to view on line anytime, as well as in individual booklets displayed in each room. Upon leaving the nursery for school, each child will receive a fully printed learning journal of their time in the nursery and a butterfly wing keepsake designed by themselves.
