Our Core Aim

Providing high standards of care, enabling children to learn through play - supported by a team with extensive early years experience, skill and qualification.

  • We believe our highly skilled and experienced team reflect this in their everyday practise, all of whom are professionals, committed to their role as part of NBDN team.
  • Since the nursery opened as part of the children’s centre in 2006 the majority of the original team members remain, including the management team.
  • Qualifications range from a minimal of level 3 to level 6 in child care, 3 Early Years teacher status and an additional team member training as a EYT in the new year.
  • In addition we are an organisation committed to continuously developing our team to embrace innovative and changing needs of the profession.
  • Management team has 22 years experience, level 6 early years leadership and child care, with Early Years Practitioner status.

Our Team


My name is Emma I have a level 3 diploma in childcare and education. I have worked with children from 0-2 years at New Brighton Day Nursery since completing my qualification in 2006. I enjoy doing messing play activities, singing and music and exploring the outdoors with our little ones.


My name is Eve, I started New Brighton Day Nursery in September 2014 and I work in the Butterfly Room. I have worked in childcare for 7 years. I have completed a BA honors degree in working with children and young people. I have three children of my own, and I enjoy creative activities and messy play.


My name is Fay and I work in the Butterflies Room as an Early Years Teacher (EYT). I gained my teacher status in 2013 after doing a degree in children and young people. I have worked as part of the nursery since 2010 and I love to see the children learn, grow and develop ready for school.


My name is Gemma. I have a level 3 diploma in childcare. I have previously worked in other day nurseries and crèches, working along-side children aged between 6 weeks and 3 years. I joined the nursery in April 2012. I enjoy engaging children in messy play, exploring the outdoors area, helping children to develop independence and reading stories.


My name is Lauren, and I have been working at New Brighton Day Nursery since 2009. I have worked within 2 different rooms, and have enjoyed the diversity of each room. I have a foundation degree in Early Years. I am enjoying developing my knowledge and understanding and implementing it within the setting. I am now a senior member of staff in the Butterfly Room and I have a little boy of my own called Oscar, he also attends the nursery. As a trained 'Melody Maker' I love to create music, rhythm, and rhyme experiences with the children.


My name is Louise Roy, I am the nursery manager at New Brighton Day Nursery and have been since 2007. I have over 20 years of early years experience and qualified with a first class BA honors degree in Early Years Leadership, Early Years Teacher status and a National Professional Qualification in Integrated Centre Leadership. I have two children of my own and enjoy creating fun, stimulating environments where children are free to play and explore.


My name is Nikki and I have worked at New Brighton Day Nursery since 2006. I currently work in all rooms and prepare and serve the nursery meals. I have an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, and 15 years childcare experience. I have a son called Isaak, and I enjoy creative activities, music and song time!


My name is Pam, I am a mum to two girls and a Nan to two boys. I have over 29 years of experience working in childcare and have gained a level 3 in Childcare and level 4 in Quality Standards in Childcare. I enjoy art and craft and messy play with the children and sharing books with them.


My name is Rachel. I have worked at New Brighton Day Nursery since March 2007. I have worked with children for 25 years. I am a mum to Laina, who is now 14 years old. As the room Leader I enjoy singing and organising concerts with the children, creative activities and exploring the outdoors.


My name is Siobhan and I am now based in the Butterfly Room. I have been part of the team at New Brighton Day Nursery for 4 and a half years. I have a level 3 in childcare and education and i enjoy doing regular courses to keep my knowledge fresh and up to date. I am really enjoying my time here at New Brighton and enjoy assisting the children meeting their early learning goals. I have two nieces and two nephews who I spend a lot of time with outside of work. I really enjoy dancing, singing and engaging in messy play with the children.


Hi my name is Tammi and I am a Senior Practitioner in the Little Stars Room. I have enjoyed working at New Brighton Day Nursery since it opening in 2006. I love joining the children in their messy play activities and spending time with them outside in the various areas. I have 26 years experience working with all age ranges and love watching every aspect of their learning and development.


My name is Vikki and I am Operations Manager here at New Brighton Day Nursery. I have a degree in Early Years and also attained Early Years Teacher status (EYT). I am currently working towards Level 3 in Forest School, this has been a great interest of mine and I have enjoyed setting up forest school sessions along with Fay. I have been here at New Brighton Day Nursery for 10 years.


My name is Alisha, I have recently become a member of the team at New Brighton Day Nursery (February 2015). I have a level 2 and 3 in childcare. I enjoy working with children of different ages, I am currently based in the Explorers Room and I am enjoying supporting the children develop and learn new skills. I have a passion for providing children with interesting and enjoyable activities.


My name is Luke, I am the first apprentice here at New Brighton day nursery, I have a niece who I spend a lot of time with outside of nursery. I am currently working in butterfly room, where I help and play with the children; I will also be attending college 1 day a week to support my learning. I am passionate about children having fun and learning along the way. I enjoy playing football in my spare time.


My name is Hayley. I have a level 3 diploma in Childcare and Education as well as a BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies. I have been based in the Little Stars room since September 2015. I enjoy messy play and singing with the children.


My name is Steph and I have been a part of New Brighton Day Nursery team for over a year now. I am currently studying 'Children and Young People Services' and have a level 3 in childcare and educations. I am currently a Senior Practitioner in the Butterfly Room and my favorite activity is phonics.


My name is Nicole, I am currently studying my Level Three in childcare through an apprentice scheme. I have already achieved my Level Two in Childcare and Education. I am currently based in the Explorers, I love working in this room and have enjoyed spending time and getting to know the children. Outside of nursery I spend a lot of time with my family, we have lots of children in our family, so I made up my mind at an early age to work with children. I am quite a shy person until I am comfortable, but everybody here has made me feel very welcome, and I am happy to see what the future holds.


Hi my name is Kate- I have re-joined the team as a childcare practitioner in Butterfly's. I have a level 2 and 3 in Childcare and Education, with over 8 years experience. I enjoy being outdoors with the children in all weathers and also enjoy creative activities.


My name is Charlene and I have recently started working at New Brighton Day Nursery as a childcare practitioner in the Little Stars room. I have a BA honors in Early Childhood Studies and 2 and a half years experience working with babies and toddlers. I really enjoy getting to know the staff and the children throughout the nursery, I am really looking forward to working with my key children and watching them grow and develop. I love singing songs with the babies and carrying out messy activities.


Hi - My name is Louise, I have re-joined the team as a Childcare Practitioner in Explorer's. I hold a level 2 and 3 in Childcare and Educations. I have 8 years experience and i have enjoyed working abroad as a nanny and i have 2 nephews and a niece who i enjoy spending time with outside of work. I really enjoy spontaneous activities and causing a mess!!!


My name is Jenny and I joined NBDN in October 2016 as an early years teacher. I qualified as a teacher in 1999 and spent 7 years teaching in primary school. Since 2006 i have specialised in early years education, working with children from birth to 5 years. In 2009 I achieved my Early Years Professional status and my National Professional Qualification in integrated center leadership. I am particularly interested in developing positive behaviour management strategies with the children and work closely with all the staff to ensure this is implemented consistently throughout the nursery.
