Food and Nutrition
In 2012 we gained an Early Years Health Promotion Status.
In October 2014 received a 5 food hygiene rating.
We are breast feeding friendly, with a designated feeding area.
Our meal times are a social time with friends and key person, we encourage healthy food portions and choices, practice in using cutlery, pouring drinks and trying new flavours.
For babies we follow guidance from parents as to their individual feeding routines, and will make up feeds accordingly. We offer two weaning stages that offer the same nutritional value as all our meals.
The Nursery commissions the 'Nursery Kitchen' a specialised local caterer for children's day nurseries. This provides our children with delicious, additive-free, home cooked food for children's day nurseries, packed with fresh fruit and vegetables, using local seasonal produce where possible.
We are able and happy to cater for a whole range of dietary requirements including:-
- Dairy Free
- Gluten Free
- Jain (no meat, fish, garlic, onions, eggs, gluten)
- Weaning Foods
To supplement the main meals we provide fresh fruit, milk and water throughout the day. Daily/weekly menus are on display on the parent info board and the parent area even allows you to view your child's daily food intake.
